Hey everyone, my avic avic is my third T, picked it up as it was in a pet shop housed in an terrestrial setup and needed to rescue it, I’ve got it in a pretty decent set up, arboreal, good airflow , side ventilation, water dish at the bottom of cork bark, but I’m concerned I’ve never seen it eat and its abdomen looks a little small, it refuses food from tong feeding and every time I leave crickets in overnight I usually need to take them out in the morning, does anyone have any suggestions or can anyone offer any help? thanks again.

You look like you have a mm those look like bulbs he may never eat. Make sure his water dish is ALWAYS FULL it's important if he is a mature male.
Can you try n get pics of his pedi's please will be able to see better if he is mature then but am 90% certain those pedi's look way too big.
Mm don't last long in this sp but at least he will have somewhere good for his last months.

so you think it’s a female, and yes the little one has webbed a little bit
Idk, tbh I am not good with avic vent shots but definitely not a mm yet i see no man parts on the pedi. My thoughts were if little one hasn't quite settled yet they may not eat. Avic are fussy like that and can sometimes take a while to settle into new digs. It may be worth the putting little one in a quite less bright spot and offering smaller pray or prekilled pray on the web.

Appreciate the help btw
Np it's what we are here for 😉.
I am sure once the Americans come on someone will be able to help better then I can. Avic aren't my bag I am a fossorial/terrestrial girl . I only have one avic atm n I prefer psalmopoeus if I get an arboreal t 😊.

How long you own it? All Ts take a while before they eat.

Stop tong feeding - they are capable ambush predators. No one feeds them in the wild.

I’ve had it a month, just noticed some white spots around the mouth, could this be contributing?

I know I’m honestly probably overthinking it, i made sure to read up on just how particular avics are but i guess this is me experiencing it first hand

Can't say w/that pic. NEED a very clear one.

A month is not that long. Can't say it's going to live forever, or die tomorrow. I never get pet store Ts for this reason.

They aren't too particular. Just have a limited tolerance for mistakes such as moist/stagnant air - kills them dead FAST

is this any better ?
yeah I’d prefer not to buy from a store either (I know one will just be replaced by another) but I couldn’t let this one slip.

I guess this just confirms 80% of T info, correct husbandry and wait n see

I see a pink toe there.

@OP can you post pics of the full enclosure? If that says 18.5C, that’s a little chilly.
