Well they are slings.

Mori, neat idea. Did you have some extras left over from an eggsack or something?

nope, they were given to me by a friend.

they're at about 2/3" right now, the container is about 4"x4"x5" tall. I think that's prenty of room for now, when they grow a little more they'll be going into a container that's about 5" in diamteter and 6-7" tall.

I used to keep my 4 A. purp's slings in a similar container. However, I had escape problems every time I open the thing! Now how on earth do you contain 40+ slings when you water/feed/clean etc. I see many of them already nested on the lid.

Awww, they look like my babies! :)

Great pics you guys!

Our 5 A.avic slings are still together too. They're about 6 weeks old, 3/4" across. All is going well so far, though they have yet to molt together.

They are spending a little more time doing things independantly, but until recently they seemed to seek eachother out and after doing their greeting of touching eachothers' "face" when meeting up, they'd settle together. Often you'd find them resting joined by touch at some point, usually one toe in contact with another's toe. I find it all so interesting to observe!

It's amazing to see that avic avic can be kept together..

Has anyone tried it with other avic sp.? Like mayb 10 versi slings in a container?
I wonder if it'll work out the same as their counterparts..

As far as I know A. versicolors cannot be kept communially. Only Pokies and Avic Avics.
