well i handle all my t's occasional except for my oldworlds(im a pansy) and we just took out my pink toe. shes a little over 5 inches, and i just never thought to take her out. the fastest spider ive handled was l difficilis and shes about 7 inches. anyway, we took her out and she was calm as usual, but then as soon as she got on my hand she FLEW up my arm, jumping in the process. then she calmed down and walked downy mother other arm from my shoulder. then jumped from my hand to my dads. then she crawled up my dads arm and on his back

then i had her get on my hand, slowly broght her towards the floor, as she jumped off onto the floor, then ran straight for the wall. i blocked her just in time and then she just started running all over the floor like a crazy person. it was fun though. oh and the whole point of this was to get her out of her enclosure for maintenence(little gnats in there)

I may be the minority here, but I try not to handle them because I feel it stresses them out.

I understand the necessity of removing them for maintenance though. However, a deli cup would suffice just fine.

Your comment about it jumping to the floor reinforces my reasoning for not handling them, especially not on my back.

It's a good thing you had her close to the floor when she jumped. Avics are pretty good about jumping 'gracefully' but it's still too much risk in my opinion.

no we did take her out in a deli cup, but we had never handled her i just wanted to try it. and shes completely fine, i checked her over. i mean she jumped, she didnt fall, and im assuming she knows what shes doing :D and i certainly dont make a habit of handling my t's for their safety.
