Avic Avic Breeding project....

Just found this little male for my female Avic. First time I've tried breeding her and it went great. Just a few moment after I tossed him in they were both tapping like crazy. They hooked up probably about 3 different times for a few minutes until they got sick of eachother and retreated to different side of the tank. I plan on leaving him in the tank until she looks like she's about ready to drop an eggsack.

Thats what i initially was gonna do with mine, but she wouldnt have no part of him in her own tank, when i put them both in a diff container though it was different story.. we mated them 4 or 5 times and got a really nice sac from her, plannin on breeding her again real soon..

Right on, yeah so far they seem pretty mellow, and at one point he even crawled into her little hole of webbing she made, which I thought was pretty funny actually. I'm pretty sure she kicked him out....I would too! I mean she's only known him for like a day! Already trying to move in! hhahahahahaha no really though, the tank is large enough where I think they can be pretty comforatable on seperate sides, and she only hangs out in one corner anyhow. So, I think they will do well, if I see them acting up I will defiantly remove him, but for now it'll be convienient if they can just mate whenever.

Nice! Congratulations on picking up a male for her. Jenny sure has grown up. It looks like she is in a great home now. I hope to see some more photos with her and a huge sack!

I made the usual Krazy 8's stop on Saturday. I ended up picking up a fat little Avicularia minatrix sling from him. I still have a soft spot for Avics! Best of luck with the spiders!
