This is my first Tarantula, a pink toe. I'll use this thread as a photo album for him and also to show you people. Sorry, I know the pictures are big and not the best quality, I did the best I could!

The first one you can sort of see Eragado's true colors, metallic blue with a brown abdomen, not all black with pink toes like I originally thought.

The container he's in is home-made. The critter keeper seemed too small for him, especially with him being an arboreal. The 10 gallon tank I planned to put him in was hidden from me by my less than enthusiastic family so I had to improvise. The container used to hold caramel corn, I washed it well before using it! The half-log is 'Fluker's Critter Cavern.' He uses that as a hiding place. A Coconut Fiber climbing wall was taped to the back to make an easier climbing area than just plastic. Will get a better enclosure when I can.

A hole was cut in the lid and a window screen was put in using clear duct tape, for ventilation.

A T-Rex brand Forest Bed Expandable Substrate, made in the USA. No wood chips! This was used for the bottom of Eragado's enclosure.

Now if only he had turned around in this picture...

A full body picture, maybe a tentative size reference? I think he's a juvenile, his body is only about 2 to 3 inches long, not including the legs. The store didn't know much anything about their tarantulas. A breeder would have been a smarter place to buy from, had I known any at the time.

My attempts to get a picture of his underside to see if he's male or female. I think it's male but I'm not sure. I think he's male, he roams a lot and keeps checking the lid like he wants out. Maybe looking for a girlfriend? How old do they need to be before they can breed? Wish I knew his age....or even his gender!

I have tons of other pictures in photobucket but they all seem blurry...will update when I can get good enough pictures!

Thanks to other people's detailed and clear photos I have just confirmed without a shadow of a doubt that my tarantula Avicularia Avicularia is female, not male like I originally thought! New name suggestions anybody? I can't keep calling her Eragado....

I've decided to name my tarantula Xena, after the famous amazon warrior. It seems fitting for her, now that I know she is a girl! New pictures added with my sister's camera.

Three new and different tarantulas. The first is a male that came from a pet shop, he's missing two legs. The second is a male I received from John in a package. The sling is a curly hair tarantula John sent to me free alongside the A. Avic male.
