I’ve been curious about this for a while, when does a sling become a juvenile? Jumping spiders more specifically, but if you want to discuss other families we can do that too.

For tarantulas I generally say that they're juvis when they start getting they're adult colours (around 3" usually, less for dwarves)

For everything else (whips, trues, scorps) I say juvi when they're about half as big as they should be.

Best answer:
At the same point an infant becomes a toddler or a toddler becomes a child I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A more realistic answer:
To me, arachnids become juveniles once they pass the 4th instar, when they gain adult-like mannerisms and appearance. It depends a lot on the species though. Some grow faster and become juvies even at the 3rd instar. Then they stick around at this stage until the penultimate/subadult stage, after which they turn into adults.
