Thats brutal. Looks like he bit into the ground while he was being eaten. It's always terrible to see that, but its also so interesting too Thanks for sharing, sorry to hear about him. Did he make any successful insertions?

Man, that pic is a shocker! Sorry for Your loss... here in Hungary, T. apophysis are still rare.

Yes it is one of the 2 females i have, He was 3 months past his last sperm web, despite 12 interations with the females over that time he was just worn out. I attached the Breeding records along with this if interested.
