Asian Forest lost claw

About six months ago I acquired a nice Asian Forest scorpion. Seemed pretty healthy; good coloration, no missing limbs, and had been feeding regularly. My only two concerns were 1) it was being overfed and 2) it was in a container that was waaay to small. No room to turn around.
I've been keeping him in a much larger habitat (roughly 8 US gallons) on a moist coconut mulch. I cut his feedings down to about once a week gradually from his previous three times a week and he is looking much healthier. He has a burrow made of a jar that he spends the days hiding in.
Here's my problem: about a month ago he started using his left claw less and less. Soon he was holding it against himself and wouldn't use it whatsoever. Last week he disappeared and I didn't see him until today, which is very unusual. Normally he comes out like clockwork just as evening sets in. Today he finally re-emerged... without his left claw. He has only the right claw now, and I am very concerned about how this will affect his health and how this happened.
Have any of you experienced similar issues? He doesn't appear to be molting, and I don't think its a humidity issue. Any suggestions of how to help him recover and prevent this issue in the future would be most welcome. Thank you in advance for your help. (Sorry for poor image quality). Hmm...That's very odd indeed, What prey items do you feed it? The specimen must have amputated the disabled/injured claw while you were unaware. Seeing as the other claw is intact and working fine, it will use that one to compensate. Plus when there immature they don't really regenerate lost limbs/parts like T's and cease molting as they reach maturity. Just make sure it is not bleeding. If it is, take a small piece of toilet paper and put it on there to absorb the blood or dab it with cornstarch. Never experienced this personally before. Can't tell you how to prevent it without more details other then feeding it appropriate prey items (crickets, supers etc). Time will tell. Keep updated with its recovery.

What is the temperature / humidity of the enclosure? What prey items do you feed it?

It'll be fine. Mine got stabbed with a knife as wide as its body in a random freak accident and its still alive and functioning like normal.

Thanks for all the fast responses!
It isn't bleeding.
I feed him mealworms (rarely), crickets, dubia roaches, and an occasional sub adult hisser.
Temperature is around 80 Fahrenheit, humidity is high though I don't have a percentage.

just a though but from the looks of the pic it is it possible that it was in its hide and then stuck its claw under the jar and got its claw got stuck so it had to rip it off?

@Sarcastic Fly stated that the animal started using the appendage less over time until it eventually dropped the limb altogether.
