Alright, I live in Alabama, and Argiope Aurentia's are very common. I have no problem identifying them.
Recently I found something alittle different on the back of our storage building. I've been watching her for a while so I could nab her eggsac whenever they appeared (which happened to be today, (2 of them) )
As far as I can tell, she looks kind of, but not exactly like an argiope bruennichi-Except for the fact that they are from Europe and the like.
here's a pic of her, she prolly doesn't have much longer to live after laying to eggsacs.
ok, now if you want to compare head over to google
and then if you need to, look at argiope aurantias and see how they have different markings than my spider.
Also, the A. Aurantia's eggsacs look differentl. they make almost complietly round eggsacs with a small lip at the top.
My spiders eggs are shaped like an oval, only cut in half, and flat on one side. sort or like a "D"
so, do I have a spider from over seas or just a not so common spider?
if anyone's interested, I'll be selling the egg sacs soon as I have a positive ID. so watch the fs/ft forum.
