Yeah it usually requires two larger tanks. One to keep the candiru group and one to cycle out larger feeder fish (think koi, silver dollars, pacu etc) so they don't bleed them dry. Not a lot of people have the stomach for it.People even keep candiru!![]()
Wow. Usually things like this don't bother me but aquatic parasitic crustaceans have always had a special horror for me. Still fascinating though, I didn't know people kept these!

I got it by change in the fish stand. And I set it free after shoots video. I didn't want to keep it for a long time. It's more trouble and cruel.Not argulus, which is a relative of copepods and such, but rather a cymothooid isopod! They're normally saltwater but do penetrate into freshwater habitats. The colors on this species are absolutely stunning. I've never heard of anyone culturing aquatic isopods outside of asellids, let alone a fish parasite. Do you have a breeding group or just a few individuals?
