Don't you dare put that golden orb in a deli cup!!
Every inkling of its existance is to build it's web. I have kept mine in home made display enclosures 24" high, 18" wide by 6" deep. I placed a wood frame inside that fit dead center snug to the glass and it worked perfectly...the spider built its web using it. When disturbed they tend to rock their web back and forth and even with the 6" depth they often bumped the front and back panels of glass like a drum. These beautiful creatures need space and absolutely should not be kept if that space cannot be given.

I would do it, just to annoy buthus though. -_-
I believe it... since you are willing to waste time posting just to annoy someone.

-Hello, thank you buthus and Ant Worker for your reply.
-I´m sure what both of your points of view have enough support for caging Argiope aurantia.
-Sure ever is better the most possible living space for our invertebrates when is possible give it, but less living space (32 oz or a few more) for A aurantia may be tried?
-And please, comments about the other species named here.
-Thank you, best regards.

i personnally think deli cups are bad enclosures for most any orbweaver. if you do need to use them use very good sized cages (need web space) and allow only a few options for them to climb and attach teir webs too. this will help prevent 3d webs which often fail miserably.
