I found this little lady while I was out taking a walk. This is now one of my favorite true spiders. What a gorgeous spider. When I would approach her too fast dorsally she would slip through the web and face me ventrally. She repeated this move several times. After awhile she calmed down enough for a few photos.
This little mass of babies was about a foot from the edge of the spider's web. They were in their own little matrix of spider webbing. They did not have an orb shaped web, but rather a haphazard web. I can't say for sure if they are the above female's slings or not. I did see a slightly fuzzed out section on her web that may or may not have been the remnants of an eggsack. Either way I thought it was a great sight to see. If I approached the slings too fast they would drop from their positions and land somewhere else in the webbing.
Enjoy!
