Are wooden reptile hides safe for scorpions?

You guys know those wooden hides they sell for reptiles and frogs and stuff? I think I've seen them used for arachnid pets many times, but I have one that just has this "wood" smell to it and I'm wondering if I should remove it from my young AFSs enclosure. Here's a pic of the hide to give you an idea. I put it in last night. Also I did rinse and wash it thoroughly with spring water.

Also, I'm concerned if it could harm the springtails that live with him. He has a very large amount of springtails cohabitating.

I don’t think the hide will cause an issue.

I’d add more stuff to make that enclosure more interesting. Spag moss, leaf litter, some plants, real or fake. The spag moss will help keep moisture in there.

Those wooden hides will likely mold in such a wet environment.

The springtails have taken a liking to it. If I need to remove it, any ideas how to while minimizing springtail loss?

Also yeah, I'm getting some moss in the next day or two. Its not visible much in the pic but he has several pieces of bioactive leaf litter too.

You could probably shake it out unless they burrowed into it.

You need to partially bury the hide into the substrate so the scorpion is a tight fit into the hide, scorpions won't use a high open hide.

Also don't have the hide entrance facing outwards, facing the front, have the entrance facing one of the sides or angled towards the rear, then they will be happy to use the hide as a means of security.
