Are the eggs dead?

I think my p. metallica dropped an eggsac, but its tiny, has very few eggs (or at least what looks like eggs), and is tinted brown. Are the eggs dead?

I tried to get a good picture but the glare is awful with where its located whenever I have enough lighting to take a photo.
Its hanging by a thread from the cork bark, you can see yellowish white spheres inside, maybe about 15 of them? (its looks like a more volume wise but i can only see so many) I know this species usually has about 100 eggs and the sac is large and white normally

Side note:There wasn't a feeder in the enclosure when she made this. IMG_4509.jpeg

The only way you will find out is to pull it n look.
Has she actually been paired?
If she hasn't it's a fantom sac and won't have live eggs.
I will say though whenever I have watched sac pulling vids from pokies they usually carry the sac in their chilicera never seen one hanging like that.

Yes she has been paired with multiple males.
Can she lay a phantom sac when gravid if the fertile sac isn't ready yet and she had the phantom sac inside her prior to the pairings?
Or does a phantom sac appearing always mean the pairings were unsuccessful?

In that case I would pull it and incubate till there is no debate.

No I haven't heard of a female laying a fantom sac if she is gravid.

She can have been paired and the eggs be infertile but again that's where pulling and incubating yourself comes in.

Ppl usually pull at 30 days but personally if it was dark like that and the female isn't interested in it I would be pulling it to see what was going on. Just incase.

A fantom sac is a sac that happens when the female has not been paired.

Good news, after gaining the opportunity to pull it, it turns out the "eggs" are just tiny reflective pebbles and dirt that she wrapped in web.
Why she decided to decorate that way I have no idea, but before pulling it, I was worried it might have been a sac that she fed on until it was mostly a husk with just a few eggs left.
I'm very happy this isn't the case :), even if it makes me look a bit silly lol.
Hope for slings restored! ^-^

Don't worry you don't know till you learn 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have everything crossed she gives you lots of little pokie baby's 🤞🤞🤞

I had a thought if your girl is gravid she may have hung that stuff up there out the way to prepare the area for her laying a sac....makes sense in my head if she's to gravid to move hanging out the rubbish is just as good as flinging it 🤷🏻‍♀️

True, and hopefully, after all those pairings surely 1 has to stick lol.

Congratulations,
Great News, makes me want to sing...
"Hush little baby, don't say a word, and never mind that noise you heard.
It's just the Beasts under your bed."
by Mettallica :singing:
