I went to my local pet store to ask a question about an asian forest scorpion they had and was surprised to hear that they used to get emps in as well. He went on to say that emps are illegal in mass and I was wondering if that’s true.

I don’t live in Massachusetts, but I don’t think that’s true. Not 100% on that though

They have become illegal to export from their native habitat since like 10 years or something, since they received higher protection from CITES, so they may be confused about that. I don't know local laws in Massachusetts, but I doubt it's anything more than that, in which case they can still be kept captive bred.
