Arboreal sling enclosures

Hey everyone,

I'm currently preparing for some slings and am going to be getting some arboreal in the order.
These will be 1/2" slings when I get them so pretty small.
My two ideas for enclosures are either a pill vial (not sure where I'll get them) OR some plastic salt shaker/spice shaker.
My only concern with these two types is that if the spiders opt to web near the top, when I remove the lid for feeding i will rip apart their webbing by spinning off the top. One of my biggest pros for the salt shaker types is that they already have miniscule holes in the top, so I'm leaning towards those.
However like I said, I'm concerned about webbing at the top.
Will this be a huge problem? or is it something I can just shrug aside? is there a better option for housing arboreal slings at 1/2"?

Hey Kris !
I'm a beginner, but I thought that I could probably help you. I've seen people in their arboreal enclosure's, just before the top lid they place or stick things that the spider could make the web there instead of at the lid. Only a little lower than the lid, put something in the edges just for the spider could anchor the web there ! Hope I helped, and post some pics I want to get arboreals in the future too

If they are the size that you say they are, get tall pillvials and when it hits 2- 2 and a half inches, get a 32 ounce deli cup

One of the most admirable qualities of spiders is their ability to go with the flow. If you destroy any spiders webbing Tarantula/mygalomorph/true spider etc, they always rebuild without any of our human reactions like "why me" and then become depressed about it. So if you tear some webbing opening the container don't sweat it cause I know the spider won't

Yesterday i was reading something along the same lines and 1 person said that you could.... put a thin screen down between the top of the vial and the lid, so when you take the lid off it doesnt rip up the substrate. i found it its this one http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?228976-Any-advise-for-me-involving-crickets

I keep my avic slings in upside down maxwell instant coffee containers.

What kind of arboreals are you getting? Not all arboreals are arboreals to the same extent. arboreals
