The Adventures of Nimbus

This thread is to show Nimbus to the world. So far, she's a plump G Pulchra with no intention of eating (😒), but occasionally, she chooses to be exciting, such as this morning:

Nimbus molted!! I'm so excited to learn that she's female (and there was a reason she hasn't eaten in 7+ weeks).

Here is her shiny post-molt self as well as the molt that I pulled. 20230724_142701.jpg 20230723_215801.jpg

In the continued saga of Nimbus, she's become much more active post-molt and post-superworm. Here are some of the highlights of her antics:

My personal favorite so far and by far the most confusing: climbing onto the ceiling (just to climb back down a few mins later)!

Boy oh boy! I've got some updates for this thread! Nimbus, still my one and only T, has molted and been a fun little spood for the past several months.

In mid-October 2023, Nimbus surprised me with a molt!

Post-molt shininess :)

Since Nimbus still seemed to enjoy climbing onto the ceiling, I made her a little ladder to climb up and down so she didn't have to fall off the ceiling. She quickly figured it out!

Most recently, she's shown off her excavator tendencies and decided to clear out a bunch of substrate from her hide to the outside, creating a wall-like structure.

Since I'm having trouble attaching a video, here is an unlisted YouTube upload of Nimbus packing down her dirt yesterday:

She reminds me of a cat making biscuits!

As I anticipated, Nimbus molted last week! I was out of town and don't know for sure when she molted, but my guess is around 8/11/24 when I returned (my spider-sitter didn't remember seeing her molt before that point). Here she is with her new, shiny body as well as the molt to compare her growth to the two other molts (carapace salvaged later on). I'm thinking she's around 4.3ish inches DLS now! Come next molt, she'll be getting a housing upgrade.
