Aphonopelma moderatum?

Anyone recomend Aphonopelma as a good (pet) t?Are they easy to handle like B.smithi and B.emilia.Bad to flick hair?

i heard that some tend to be nervous and arent too keen on handling. they tend not be as docile as many other aphono's but are still handleable depending on the individual.

I have also heard moderatum can be a bit testy for an Aphonopelma, but can't verify, since I don't have any.
I have quite a few Aphono species, and none of them tend to be hair flickers. Some of them are defensive about their burrows, but are quite handlable once out of their territory...

I'm with Botar on this one. They are a tad jumpy or flighty if you will but I have yet to see any defensive behavior from them.

I was hoping you'd reply to this thread. Do you recognize the A. moderatum in Emma's hand in the picture? She is still one of her favorites.

Mine is pretty defensive. It's not too fast so I'm not worried but it does go into a threat display fairly easily. It's not real nervous, just kind of tempermental at times. Definately does not like to be touched at all though.
