I've posted this before, but I didn't get a single reply. So, I'm trying again.

Can someone tell me about the temperament of Aphonopelma aberrans, the Casa Blanca Chesnut? I've got one coming in a few days, and the setup is right, but I'd like to know more about their temperament.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. And if anyone has pictures that they'd post, that'd be great, too! Nothing came up on the search function. I searched a lot before posting. Thanks a bunch!

This guys kinda rare. Id guess thats why nobody has replied to your previous post. All I know is that there care is similar to G. rosea, except a slightly damp substrate is preffered, and they are semi defensive.

Ive kept a pair of these, I found them to be quite docile tarantulas (well the specimens I had were). I kept the substrate dry and overflowed the water dish a bit every other week to keep the area around it slightly moist, they'll do well at temps between 20-26°C.

I have a beautiful male A. aberrans which just reached maturity and is hooked out. Anyone have a female for mating? I can supply Abe or lease your female. He's 5" and gorgeous, very healthy and captive-bred.

Try the "invertsonals" subforum. I'm sure you'll get a reply or two there.

Here is a photo of one of my females that I used to have http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?260512-Aphonopelma-aberrans
To me they are skittish not to be handle, not aggressive or defensive just your all around skittish tarantula. I kept mine dry as well and they have done fine this way cause I have had several in the past.
