I did a search and couldn't find any threads containing "habitrail". Has anyone used these colorful hampster tubes in their T's setup? Send pictures of any... or just tell me to keep my silly questions to myself!!

I've never run across it before, but in theory it could work. I'd be intrested to
know because it'd be great for burrowers.

i was looking at those when i was trying to come up with a new design for a centipede cage. they looked too rickety for a centipede so i never thought about them again... but fora full size tara that would be slick!

they would work well for a burrower. It might be a good idea to leave enough space so the T can create "rooms" at the end of your pre fab housing.

I like the PVC pipe cut in half. That way you could face the opened side against your tank for peep holes. And it comes in didfferent sizes too. I'm gonna try that....thanks Jeff :)

My instant collection uses pvc pipe sections extensively. They are on the ground fror terrestrials, standing up against the back for the aboreals. They are used by all. Damn ugly, if you ask me. Perhaps a spot of paint (acrylics?) would make them less of an eyesore. They are 6" diameter.

What the Psalmopoeus have done is to make a 'nest' inside, and dug out a subteranean chalet under the substrate. When I first brought them in, i was not certain they were occupied. While i cleaned the glass, the cambridgei and the irminia came out to investigate. The pulcher stayed REAL hidden for almost a week! Now she comes out every afternoon. The irminia wanders in the morning. My favorite, the cambridgei is seen the least. I don't know if this is a good way to house abos, but they all look healthy!

I think habitrails would be great! Maybe THE solution for 'wandering male syndrome' At least they won't be likely to suffer adangerous fall that way! You could route the tubes across your desk and over the monitor.

In one of my books at home (I can't remember which one right now) they suggest sinking hampster tubing in the substrate for burrowers. It sounds like a good idea to me.

I use PVC fittings for some of my opportunistic burrowers they seem to like it quite a bit. Here's some pics of my OBT's tank. The burrow is made up of two 3" PVC elbows siliconed to the bottom of the tank and the front glass. I keep the viewing hole covered with a postcard so she feels more comfortable. I can just lift the card to check on her. Without the card I'm sure she would just web up the viewing hole completely.

Terrific setup
I'd never sleep if I didn't have a covered peephole.
