Whatever species she is, she's beautiful! Good luck with your slings, too! How many baby spoods do you have?

Try google reverse image search, or whatever search engine youre allowed to use, that lets you search with images.
Thank you! I've tried but i haven't found a specie looks similar to her. Somebody told me she might be member of genus Anarrhotus , but I'm not sure if there are any observational records of this genus in this area

Thank you 🥰 I've found some information from the internet, it said the length of Sitticus fasciger is 3.5 to 5.5 mm, but my spider is much bigger than that, about 15mm, might be the biggest jumping spider I have ever seen IMG_20241116_034220.jpg

From the data I've collected China is poorly studied but appears to have more species of salticids than all other east Asian countries. with more being discovered almost daily. And to make matters worse there is poor coordination between the study centers with no central data depository and even worse, an extreme range of environments. Deserts, high mountains, tropical regions, savannas and you name it.
I'd suggest contacting Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing (IZCAS), China, and Tongren University (TRU) in Tongren, China. They may have nothing but at the least might be able to steer you to the likely institute with the data.
Additionally there is also the possibility your specimen is yet to be described. The western institutes politely consider the greater China area to be a black hole with very little coordination and cooperation between institutes and somewhat lacking in standardized cataloging.

Wow she a big girl then.... I have no idea what else she could be. Best to try what Snark said n maybe get intouch with the boffins in China n ask them , I have no idea how else you would be able to identify her.

I will say though the sp I suggested does say 4 - 5mm long but it says thats just body size, it doesn't include legs so she could still be one of those. They do appear to get her size on occasion. Either way she's gorgeous and I wish yous all the good luck in the world 😊

If you find out what she is let us know 😉

I executed my usual data search like I've done for brainiacs at universities. I was instantly inundated in a very limited scope of properly described species and references or inferences of undescribeds and similarities with every institute having a growing backlog of specimens. To add to the casserole it was obvious the government iron fist was everywhere keeping the research institutes compartmentalized, apparently each institute being required to have the Gov. vet their findings before releasing to the public.

Thank you very much😭 I don't know how to contact with boffins, maybe find the website of institute and send an email to them? tbh I don't think they will reply😂 anyway, I'll keep raising them

I know their censorship is strict but I didn't know it has involved in the field of nature science 😶

Yer I would of emailed at university's ect anything or one that specialises in jumping spiders but if Snark says it's a no go idk how far that will take you.

I would, your clearly doing a great job or they wouldn't be thriving for you and she wouldn't of hatched them out if the conditions weren't right she would of just eaten the sac. Just keep doing what your doing and hopefully one day you'll find out what they are but tbh unless your going to breed them it doesn't matter anyways, just enjoy your little spoody family 🥰😊

Pure guessing here but I think the issues and accusations surrounding Covid, the alleged lab leaks and on out to accusations of biological weapons development has caused the Gov. to take some extraordinary measures. Them fielding 170,000 additional law enforcement officers in one week during the initial Covid outbreak gives some idea as to how far their over-reach extends. Seems safe to assume there are now monitors in place in virtually all bio-medical research institutes, especially those that do any research on animals.
Logically the Gov wants the labs isolated so they can more closely monitor what research is ongoing.

On a side note, I occasionally use the term 'bamboo curtain'. Westerners are amused by the term, or more often that not don't comprehend what it means. But virtually everyone in China encounters it almost daily. Sudden lag in getting to a web site and the dead end web sites sometimes returning Forbidden or access denied, or simply web sites that go nowhere, just won't connect and handshake.
Here in Thailand we get a major dose of this as it was China the paid the major bills installing the revamped fiberoptic internet. It's pretty obvious to me just getting through to AB, which apparently is a suspected animal trafficking site. I get to the main page instantly then sifting through the web pages I get a 10 to 20 second lag and sometimes no connect at all. Obviously the connect is diverted to a monitored and filtered server system.
(It took 23 seconds from me posting this post to it going up on the AB site. Typical.)

Just tested big brother:

And again. Nifty how they detect a double end to end encoding and block it.

That's because of the firewall, to us, we can't connect to some websites such as X, Google and Wikipedia, unless using VPN. A VPN is able to solve most of these connection problems.🤣 the censorship of internet is strict too, on most chinese websites people are not allowed to talk about some political issues, or the post will be deleted, even worse, the account may be blocked 🤐

Thank you your words touched me so much 😭 actually I have little experience in raising jumping spiders, up to now everything is going well 🥰
