Hello! I just caught a female gray wall jumper outside. She is about 4 mm now. Has anyone kept these? I have here in a jar with twigs and a small fruit fly. It is very temporary, I will soon move her into a 12x12 terrarium! Any tips? :D

Oh! alright, I won't do that then! (it was inches) The jar is...say...3 inches wide x 3 inches long x 4 inches tall. Would that be good until she grows bigger?

Salticids don't especially need substrate. Also, are you talking about M. bivittatus when you say "gray wall jumper"?

I don't personally keep jumping spider's, but I watch a lot of youtube. And from what I have seen, jumping spider's are wanderers and like to stalk their prey. Petko on the dark den channel once said they need lots of room considering their size to explore. But I think he just keep's his in a clear large slushy cup with mesh over the hole in the top, and he as a cork flat that gives a lot of surface area. With that said if I am not mistaken "Exotics layer" seemed to think they would prosper with even much more area, and said that's what has contributed to him not keeping them. Because of the area needed for such a small creature. But, maybe someone here will know first hand and have more accurate husbandry info for you! Good luck either way! They are entertaining to watch nonetheless.

Get a 32 oz deli cup, drill small air holes on the side of it, put coco fiber as the ground, add a fake plant. BOOM, less than a 5 dollar enclosure.
