Ive kept them. you can keep them like phidippus audax, but you need to feed them more often bc they are smaller.

How do you like to keep your P. audax? I have one and is doing well in the conditions I give my P. regius and P. undatus. Wondering if I need to switch my husbandry up a bit? Thanks! 😄

Audax and P undatus dont need as much humidity as regius, and can tolerate much cooler temps comfortably, but they all can do well in a similar environment too

Just be sure to give a regius that needs to molt around 80% humidity to avoid mismolting

The other two can molt safely in much less, but i try to stick to 60-70% for molts

I currently have my first jumping spider which happens to be an emerald.

What do you mean by "cooler temps". I've been keeping mine in my room which stays around 68 degrees but she hasn't really left her hammock in about a week. I'm starting to wonder if the temperature is the issue.

Just moved her to my bathroom which I can keep a bit warmer and I'm thinking the humidity from showering might help her out as well lol.

Also threw some fruit flies in there in case she's hungry and just moves around the enclosure while I'm at work

I don't know what I'm doing lmao please help.

Yeah jumpers are most comfortable at 74° F or so. If they get cold, they will go off food and become inactive.
As far as a bathroom goes, I don't know if it would be the most ideal situation, but jumpers are pretty hardy, ngl.
As long as there is good air flow and the humidity isn't too high I think it's ok. But someone else can chime in lol.
Generally, if you spray the substrate every week or few days, that's enough for humidity, especially this species.
Spray a side of the enclosure for water

fruit flies are a good food, but if they are a good deal smaller than her you may want to transition to slightly bigger food

cooler temps- well, they wont die at 68. but they wont come out, yeah. 70s at least to encourage activity.
but she wont die or anything like that, she just is too chilly to move around comfortably, they overwinter like this as well

heres a care guide, this should honestly work just fine for her :)

Fruit flies were all I could find that she wasn’t afraid of. Can’t find anything in between them and Dubia roaches. Might have to check out the pet store again though.

And thanks for the guide! Will definitely be checking it out.
