If you're going there I suggest buying the book! Actually, I recommend every New World tarantula fancier purchase this excellent book.

But here's your list:

Tarantulas [Theraphosidae]
Brachypelma vagans
Citharacanthus livingstoni
Citharacanthus meermani
Crassicrus lamanai
"Metriopelma gutzkei" - now known as Lasiodora gutzkei
Psalmopoeus maya
Psalmopoeus reduncus

Pygmy "Tarantulas"/Mygalomorphs or Brush-footed Trapdoor Spiders [Barychelidae]
Reichlingia sp.
Reichlingia annae

Reichling also listed four theraphosid species from adjacent countries that possibly exist in Belize:

Acanthopelma rufescens
Brachypelma sabulosum
Citharacanthus longipes
"Eurypelma stoica" [Eurypelma has since been found to be a junior synonym of Avicularia and this species was moved to Aphonopelma and the gender declination of the specific epithet corrected, hence the current name is Aphonopelma stoicum.

Cheers,

Michael

PS: Don't forget to bring me back some P. maya ;) Just kidding :embarrassed:

The one Grabo was selling I think are reduncus. A friend and me brought a few (all mine apart from 1 ran off!) and the one I have is male. We are keeping them seperate for the moment to wait an see but I don't hold my luck out that they are maya. Still I supose time will tell.

I've had my name on the waiting list at Amazon and B&N for close to 2 years jus to get a used one... I can't find a 'new' one anywhere. Anyone know any rare boksellers that might have the book?

Least I got a little info from it here on this thread, but I want that book, even in fair condition, yellowed pages fine just none missing

I'm only gonna offer a guess, because I can't find much on the net about it, but that guess is Citharacanthus meermani. From what I can see in your picture, it does seem to have some Citharacanthus characteristics. Good luck with your research. :D

Why not just order it from Amazon.uk? I order a lot of impossible to find (in the States) books from there.

Mendi,

A friend of mine is a book seller in Quebec and he had quite a few copies for sale a while back, I doubt he sold all of them... they were not the hard cover edition though, but same content nevertheless...

You can contact Jean François on his website

www.naturama.ca

Hopefully he will have a copy left for you

Good luck

Martin

thanks. Yeah, it was AWSOME. We went canoeing down a river and it felt like i was on the amazon and it was as amazing as i thought it would be. I didnt bring my camera because of the rapids, but we saw lots of toucans and tropical birds, lots of iguanas, and even a water basilisk (the lizard that walks on water). I hope u get to the amazon someday aaron, and kornordie, take me with u!

Well, when we got home i found out i got a 4,700$ scholarship for college so i am trying to convince my mom that we need to go on another vacation :D . It IS for animals and art so i dont think they would be opposed to me using it to get to the amazon. Hehe, but i think i am going to have to use it for college. It would be cool to meet u in the Amazon.
