I think A. gigas and Spirostreptidae sp. 8 are my favorite millipede species, at least at the moment.

I know less than most but I think most times people seem to be almost guessing what they're centipede is. I can't find any pics of a madagascarensis anywhere apart from my own. Also is there a difference to a centipede and a scolopendra ?

A Scolopendra is a genus of centipede and Centipedes are a specie of Myriapods.

Ethmostigmus rubripes and Scolopendra hardwickei. S. hardwickei looks simply awesome, and E. rubripes comes in a huge array of different colors, and is not too hard to obtain where I live.

As for millipedes, I have not had much experience with them, but I have kept a kind of blue millipede from the Bunya mountains, which looks cool. I prefer centipedes though, as they are hardier, easier to feed, and generally live longer.

I do not own either milipedes or centipedes, but i have seen them in pictures. I do not know the scientific names for any of them, but i do like the looks of the feather milipede and the only pede that i just remembered the scientific name for (S. Alternans) looks pretty stunning also.

Archispirostreptus gigas by far. Have had other millis, but just the size alone wins me over. I had a rather large female some time ago. She lived quite a while, acquired her in my early teens, and I miss that girl everyday she's gone. I so do wish I could find one again, though thus far, I have been unable.

Chicobolus spinigerus -- see my avatar :D
I also like Narceus gordanus; while not as beautiful, they have cute emoticon faces. :)

I think all millipedes have those cute faces. Centipedes meanwhile, have a face that is simply evil!

My current favourite centipede is Alipes sp. I have two little pedelings, both around 1.5 +/- inches. Probably going to get a couple more this weekend, before they all go to the reptile expo in Oregon and sell out.
