I found this one in my kitchen in Eastern washington.

Sorry for the image, I don't know how to resize it.

Any ideas on the species?

How big is it? I seems quite large. Those pedipalps should be easy to recognise.

My first gut instinct, based on nothing other than basic appearance, is that it is a male trapdoor spider that wandered in under your door while searching for a female. Or possibly some othe mygalamorph, such as a purseweb spider. We would some better pictures to be sure.

It's about 2 inches from leg 1 to leg 4. It appears to have boxing gloves. so I'm guessing it's male. I will set it up with some burrowing substrate today and hope it survives for awhile.

Here is an email address for you: tiso@u.washington.edu

Rod Crawford is the Curator of Ararchnids at the Burke Museum. He is probably the most qualified person to id this specimen for you. He is an expert in spiders of our region as well as Alaska, Montana, etc.
Good luck.

If it's got boxing gloves than let the damn thing go. It is obviously lost...
