hi all been away from the boards for a while but i'm back
right over here in britain a red ant nest has had the mating flight recently and i've caught aload of those and stuck them in a jar together.
i also caught 2 queens roaming around the nest (surface/just inside a tunnel) and i put these queens into my home made ant nest along with about 20 workers.
i've also added about 2 more queens (not too sure of the queen number since some died but atleast 3) to the same nest.
now heres the question
since these new queens have workers already will they join together to form one colony and produce loads of eggs with the workers doing what they do OR will they split up into different colonys OR wil lthey nto do anything because they think that their still in their old nest?
