Jumping spider…. P. Audux (however you say it)
haven’t seen him for awhile so I decided to check up on it, but of course, I find it dead, just like 3 of my other pets these past few months. Stuck in a molt, anyone know what I did wrong? I guess I feel numb from all the deaths since I’m not so sad about this one. I personally saved this one from the wild.

Honestly Phiddipus sp in general don’t do well in captivity from what I’ve experienced. It’s frustrating that social media has driven the popularity of an animal that’s typically just going to die shortly after being captured, and babies are tremendously challenging to keep alive

I'm sorry this happened to you. My solution to the end-of-life grief in keeping short-lived Araneomorphs has been to breed them. Something about keeping the circle of life going has psychological benefits. Good ventilation and access to a small area of spray-misted water have seemed to work well for me.

Or not going, which produces the same effect in the larger scheme of things, No offense intended in any way shape or form to the OP, or in hundreds of similar posts here on AB, at the least acquaint yourselves with Darwin's Origins and natural selection.
Or to put it in the extreme of simplified terms, your animal is going to die. Should die. Must die. And with arachnids the most common form is death in molt. The death isn't a tragedy but a necessity.

Footnote. The primary reason Darwin's works were so controversial and disputed was during his time period a great number of people were firmly convinced the world was formed and populated only 6000 years earlier. Science and common sense only recently were allowed their rightful place above religious fantasies.
But, as seen with the abortion issues today, the battle between the two mind sets still rages. Death in molt, in humans, is... ?
