Those are some incredible pictures though - you must admit!

Though if they don't do it then who will? I'm sure it will affect someone profoundly and have some kind of purpose. Who knows?

Maybe he's suicidal but doesn't want to do it himself . . . ? Cool spider.

And definitely a spineless wonder. ;)

come on...i think its great to be so comfortable with hot species lol...i've on occasion held my LQ's... though its not something i make a practice of doing all of the time and usally its by accident while trying to get great pics...remember if treated, more then likely he wont die....respect and fear are two different things in our hobby...we shouldn't fear our pets, just understand the dangers and act accordingly....remember Steve Irwin??? when its your time, its your time... regardless of how dangerous the species....

1. Read some of the commentary under the pics and you'll see this wasnt a pet. Even if it was a "pet" I have never heard of one of these being habituated to handling

2.IMHO, respect for these kinds of critters = do not handle. No reason to FEAR them, if proper precautions are taken, but no good reason to tempt fate either

Or let's put the ball in your court. Gimme ONE good reason for this guy to be handling wild Phoneutria

Darwin never has to look far for his award winning nominees.

I respect all of my spiders and tarantulas, by not fooling with them any more than is required of their care. I don't care to be bitten, nor do I care to accidentally harm one of them in an instinctual fit of panic.
