I can't blame you. He is Soooo good lookin.
And I'm sure he feels the same way about you.

Zhazu thinks I'm her mate, When shes on my shoulder, she'll spread her wings and purr in my ear, do the head bobbing thing and pretty much try to "do" me.

Its funny, and sad. Mostly funny. She wont let go.

I love my birdie...

yep Dino does all that...

except not from my shoulder. He cant perch there. I have to hold him against my chest..then he purrs and bobbs and all that you said..
Yup, he loves me too...cept tonite he was trying to pick up my necklace (to snap it in two, Im sure) and instead he got skin right at my collarbone...YEOWCCCCCCHHHHHH...well, when I yelped and jumped he held on..so as not to lose his balance...
I could probably put an earring in there now...

rapunzel, may I ask if you know what happened to your parrot's feet? I saw on Ripley's Believe It or Not or some such program where they made prosthetic (sp?) feet for a parrot out of some kind of stuff dentists use and the bird was able to walk around pretty good afterwards although it could not perch.

i was told that

his parent birds bit them off. He walks on his little stubs, and he climbs the bars of his cage..did you see how he isnt in a parrot cage, per se...it is more of a rabbit cage-type cage and we cut 2X2's for his perches. He sticks his stubs in the little squares and uses his beak...and gets around that way.

I thought about those little prosthetics. It would be neat to get him some sort of boot that would enable him to hold on to a perch or swing..he has never had a swing, i bet he would enjoy one if I could figure out how to keep him from sliding off of one with the movement.

Is it only in captivity that the parrot parents are known to bite their babies' toes off? I always thought of birds as doting parents but maybe they get stressed or don't learn from others' experienced while in captivity?
