Anoles!

The brick walls of the university greenhouse, which is fronted with a variety of plants throughout the year, has become a favorite haunt of at least three gorgeous anoles --one handsome adult female, one immature one and one male that I've noticed.

Anywho, walking to class today I see the big female out sunning, and lean over (cursing my lack of camera) for a closer look..and she head bobs at me I didn't think female anoles would do that..anywho, long story short, I had been speculating if she was gravid or not based on how fat she was...if she wasn't, she is now! I had walked up at the end of whatever courtship ritual they perform and watched the pair mate right before my eyes (And i didnt have my CAMERA! :evil: )

Still and all, seems like something you only happen across once (except maybe if you breed anoles, lol)

Hapens all the time here ... In the summer it's hard not to find at least one pair .... "in the act"... The stragest thing i've even seen with anoles was when i was watching a small anole on the side walk and all of the sudden a much larger anole i didnt even notice at fist, runs by and swallows the small one whole..... that was crazy .. I didnt know they were so canibalistic.
