The other night on a terrible show called Rattlesnake Republic (Animal Planet of all places) a beaded lizard was captured in what was supposedly central TX. The Mexican Beaded lizard does not even occur in TX. Bogus turds planted a beaded lizard as the pest that was eating a farmers chicken eggs. They caught it, said it was a rare find and it will fetch $1300. Animal Planet, you soooooo suck!

It will fetch 13 rapes in federal prison as it is a CITES protected animal.

I can not stand Animal planet, or any "educational" kind of channel, they are all just so crap beyond beliefe. Animal planet bores the living hell out of me, not only are the programs crap, but pretty much every animal featured is either a boring domesticated animal or just the same commonly known animals over and over. Lion, meerkats, crocodile, shark, im pretty sure thats the only animals they think exist.

Eden and Nat geo wild arent as bad yet.

Nat Geo's pretty okay. Never heard of Eden though. :/

Animal Planet sucks terribly. One show they have on there isn't even animal related- some dirtheaded show called Why am I still Alive or whatever crap like that.

Animal Planet does suck now! I miss when Crocodile Hunter and Jeff Corwin would come on.. Most of the shows they have now don't have anything to do with animals!

A lot of animal planets shows are now to make people scared of animals, not know more about them. The only things not boring are the 1001 ways every not cuddly exotic pet can kill you, how common animals in your yard can infest your house and eat your children, and how that guy with the corn snake probably has a 10ft monitor in his basement that will one day eat him alive so you better knock on his door frequently to make sure he isn't dead.

<edit>.. I forgot a lot of dogs are evil man eaters now too.

Oh yes, lets not forget SuperSnake the apparent cross breed between all the invasive big snakes in Florida that will create a 30ft+ man eating snake =o Animal Planet can now predict phenotypes!

Oh but after you kill all the bugs, snakes, spiders, dogs, racoons, mice, and birds in your neighborhood go out and buy a pet chimp, because they're like a hairy old person in baby form! They're cute, cuddly and totally will not be dangerous, I mean just look at the hairy diapered thing!

It is interesting in contrast to read the field notes of animal collectors and observers. Days, weeks, sometimes even months go by while they try to spot some wily animal. That would make slightly boring segments for Animal Planet though. Somebody sitting in a bush all night trying to not doze off.

I sidetracked. There should be some way to call the A. P. bluff and demand they inject some hard facts into their fantasias.

Animal Planet has some shows that are OK. (I like Planet Earth, The Blue Planet, and Monsters Inside Me. Even I Shouldn't Be Alive has its moments, though it doesn't belong on Animal Planet.)

What I dislike most about this (and every other "educational" network) is that the focus seems to be shifting from documentaries to "reality" TV shows. (How many shows about noodling do we really need?)

Lol.
We should go and raid the AP support inbox with complaints and demands.
Put the Python Hunters and Jeff Corwin back on TV! Nobody could care about Finding Bigfoot, or Why am I Still Alive and the crap shows along those lines.
Though River Monsters is okay. Or is that on NatGeo? I forget.
