Androctonus sice.

Can some of you explain to me whats the normal sice of the androctonus species...? ( cm will be very glad but inches are also welcome) of a normal captiv species. I have a lot of subadults and a lot of written info.... so i prefer 1st hand info... your andros sice.

Sp. bicolor, amoreuxi, australis, crassicauda and mauritanicus ( liouvillei, hoggarensis goneti and the other ones are not important today, but will be nice speak of it also)

First, you have to take into acount that the actual size at maturity for most of the world's scorpion fauna is unknown.
Secondly, just as with any animal species, there can be a great variance in mature size.
For example: My current research involves various biological aspects of Vaejovis confusus. I maintain over 300 specimens of all sizes from 10-12 mm (instar 2) to adults that range in size from 47 mm to 65 mm. I've had 47 mm and 65 mm females produce litters and males as small as 42 mm produce spermatophores and resultant litters indicating that a wide-range of adult size variance can exist within species (V. confusus 42 to 65 mm).
In some scorpions, males, females or males and females may mature at different instars resulting in small adults and large adults. Also, many abiotic and biotic factors influence growth, development and over total length at maturity.

As for the 5 commonly kept members of the genus Androctonus:

Typical adult specimens of A. bicolor tend to be smaller than the other species, with most specimens ranging in size from 70 to 80 mm TL.
Typical adult specimens of Androctonus australis can range in size from 75 to 90 mm, with exceptionally large specimens up to near 120 mm TL.
A. crassicauda is another size variable species with adults ranging in size from 75 to 90 mm, with exceptionally large specimens capable of reaching 100 mm.
Androctonus mauritanicus, like A. australis and A. crassicauda, range in adult size from 75 to 90 mm but can attain sizes up to 100mm or more TL.
Androctonus amoreuxi are probably consistently larger than the other Androctonus species, with most adults in the range of 85 to 100 mm, with exceptionally large specimens capable of reaching 125 mm TL.

Overall, the average adult size of all of the above species is probably in the range of 75 to 95 mm TL.

The crassicauda have been recorded growing up to 12 cm but I think 9 or a10 is average and the amoreuxis are 6 to 9
