I got a kitten from the shelter a few weeks ago, being told it is a Manx mix. I have since done some research on line, and I think now he is an American Bobtail cat. I had never heard of this breen before, but his odd gray agouti color, some tabby striping on the legs face and upper chest, he manx like behavior and buil, short tail with the bend in it, all points to him being this breed. He is a big kitten for 7 months. I don't know how to load pictures and post them or I would. I live in the Mojave desert in southern CA and there are loads of Lynx Pt siamese cats and mixes showing up in shelters that have tails. There are a couple American Bobtail cat breeders in the area, so I am beginning to wonder if they put kittens that can't sell in the shelters. What I have found is that in the beginning of them developing this breed, someone is AZ took in a feral tabby cat with a short tail, when he matured he bred with their Lynx Pt siamese cat at a cattery and from there folks started trying to develope this breed. Its very interesting and probable.

Oliver was first adopted at the shelter at 4 months, then the family brought him back to the shelter at 7 months because he has "feline acne". Its only
on his chin, doesn't smell, and I just wash his chin every day. Don't think he really needs any vet treatment for this. So he is a loving affectionate cat that is getting along with my dogs, even listens better then them. Don't matter what kind of cat he is really. I had just never heard of this breed before and wondered if anyone else has.
