Ambush bugs

Just wonderin', how often do you amaricano's find these bugs?
Are they fairly common?
Also wondered if anyones ever bred them

Phymata are pretty common everywhere... at least in my experience. I have found them in 3 states, California, Montana, and New Mexico. Once on a sunflower, once on a flower stalk of a yucca, and once under a piece of bark.

All 3 times I have found them they have been pairs and I never had any success with hatching out the eggs they lay. I believe they only have one generation per year, but...I dont remember where I heard that.

Also...they squeak or make a high pitched buzzing noise when you pick them up.

Lol bet that sounds funny.
Did a search on this forum and it seems that the only problems with these are getting the eggs to hatch and the nymphs to feed

Ambush bugs look amazing, never seen one in person though. There probably aren't any that are native to Britain, but I hope someone can say otherwise.

Nah i dont think we have any ambush bugs here. Would it be possible for anyone to send me some ambush bug ova to here in the UK?
