I recently purchased this juvie Amblypygi as a Damon medius but on closer inspection and research I am wondering if it might not be from another genus, based on its' overall color and mandibles. Any help figuring out what it is would be greatly appreciated!

Phrynus Whitei or Maesi. Impossible to tell at this stage as they look identical.

I'd think twice about purchasing from that vendor again.

I personally thought whitei but couldn't pick out the red dots that the whitei are supposed to have. Do you happen to know what the defining characteristics are of the maesi? I haven't really studied the Phrynus genus because I wasn't really intending on getting any. Thanks for the help!

There isn't really any until they are full grown! And even then, it's spicy.

Not all Whitei have the dots, Whitei is a... complicated species. Unfortunately there's almost no way to tell the difference at this stage.
