I have both and for me there is no clear winner here. I would definitely recommend both. 😆
P. Irminia is a stunning animal but many tend to spend a lot of time hidden in their web tunnel.
My. A. germani also is in her tunnel a fair bit, but comes out a lot more than the P. irminia. She seems to be a bit more aggressive with her hunting, but that may be an individual variation.
Both are fast, spicy, gorgeous animals, and I love them both. My P. irminia is a bit calmer overall than the A. germani, but I've heard of quite a few that are pretty defensive, so my girl may be an exception there.

I don't have experience with A. Germani but I can tell you that the P Irminia isn't out much. This is by far one of the most reclusive T's. Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful and I do love mine. But don't expect to see it everyday. And you may not see it for months at a time

Psalmopoeus irminia can be pretty-reclusive I’ve had a few in the past. Sometimes I would see it in the open. Lost my female to old age.

I don't own A germani but the people I know IRL that have them, love them. One guy calls his "a total sweetie."

In the last 3 days I have found one my P irminia's "Toba," feet poking out the top of her hide twice. That's her hungry sign. Both times she has come flying out of her hide and grabbed the cricket before it hit the ground. This is the third wild feeding response in a row though).

Technically I still don't see her (because she moves too fast lol) but I see some flashes of black, and oh, the sound...it's like she's hit every surface of her enclosure in the same amount of time.

She has ascended from "reclusive" to "fully capable of destruction, just lying in wait."

The pompous stroll back to the hide is my viewing opportunity.

I get that people want to see their investment but why not feel accomplished that you provided them with a safe home that they deem adequate for survival?

My Psalmopoeus irminia was out every single day while my Amazonius germani was not. There will sometimes be generalizations to behavior but from my expereince you cant take that as fact. Get which ever you like the most, or get both.

Why not both? :)

Though to be honest, my irminia is out like that maybe once-twice a month. Her orange neighbor is visible all the time.

My Amazonius Germani is out a fair bit of the time. Likes to pose on the highest part of their enclosure they can get to.

She does like to come out of her little hide and viciously attack the water when added. Skittish enough for my comfort when opening enclosure though.
