Yup, looks great... I should start to learn chinese ;P

If you'd like to see tons of pics of european beetles, check this site:
http://koleopterologie.de/gallery/index.html

I love it because you can find there a lot of species that are very rare, too small or unattractive for "normal" photographers ;P

Awesome site!

And yes, I translated it with Google and its a lot easier to navigate since I don't know Mandarin. It's Engrish, but its readable and pretty simplified.

HI all
after 2008
the "Chinese" people r using in Taiwan is no longer recognized by the UN
so I guess it could be officially called Taiwanese now!
and Mandarin is a just one of the SPOKEN languages

we also have a resourceful of beetle forums , but unfortunatley in traditional Chinese

I taking chinese classes and from what we are taught, taiwanese mandarin and chinese mandarin are kind of different. mostly th espoken but even writting seems a little different.

thanks for the link dark raptor, good pics!

Hey kyle
http://insectforum.no-ip.org/gods/cgi-bin/leobbs.cgi
is the biggest insect forum in Taiwan
i even know there is one Jap hobbyist who use translation software to participate and share in the forum which is smiply amazing
BTW
the spoken Mandarin even varies in the vast land of China as for the English varies in western society

the written Chinese is the biggest difference, becuz in China they use simplfied Chinese which is "invented" by the commies, and we use the "traditional" Chinesewhich was carried to Taiwan when the democratic party evacuated from China at the yr 1949

well 99% of the chinese language written by people are simplified Chinese(yeah of course, billions and trillions of ppl, even in south east asia such as singapore ,malaysia, indonesia), only Hong Kong and Taiwan use the old ones, so the world would force us to confront to the majority

nonono steve
simplified =written form, like the characters are simplified
it's so simplified that one character can equal to several others just defined by the context of the meaning
the best translator is to learn the language, i guess it's a lot easier since u already have the environment now!

Woah...look at these FLIES!

http://freebsd.tspes.tpc.edu.tw/~afu/821.htm

Are they supposed to be imitating beetles? They're clearly flies, from the head and the category they're in...the shell appears to be part of the thorax. What a weird design, it makes the wings like a couple of switchblades or something.
