Good stuff! There is actually a full length show on this somewhere on Animal Planet or possibly National Geographic. I saw it too long ago to remember exactly, but it's worth tracking down if you find the clip interesting.

That is truly fascinating! You really have to admire these little critters for their ingenuity and persistence. Not much of a brain, but their innate instincts are truly amazing. Personally, I don't like the little boogers. A large enough colony of leaf-cutter ants can strip a citrus tree overnight. Right now, I've got a small colony in my yard. Hopefully, they won't be there for much longer.

simply amazing! ants are the most wonderful organisms on the planet, they are incredible creatures. not just an individual, but as a supercolony, the things they can build... wow.
