I have fish tanks too and that fish thread got me thinking...how many ppl like to actuall FISH too?? I DO I DO =D I couldnt find the picture of me..with my big fish SO I included my man and my girl with their fishes. The man is holding a 5 1/2 lb German Brown from the stream by our house and my girl is holding the 5lb Walleye she caught from Yuba Lake here in Utah. Enjoy. Id LOVE to see the fish, big and small, that you guys catch!! Maybe in the mean time, I can find my picture to show off!!

I have a fishing story for you. It is true, but don't let that detract from your enjoyment.

When I was young (maybe 12 to 14) my dad, sister and I went out in the canoes fishing. I was soloing my 14' and they were in the 17'. Anyhow, my sister is 5 years younger than me, so you can kind of see the age she would have been. She passes her pole back to my dad to worm. He puts a worm on the hook and passes it back. In the process, the worm drags through the water and when my sister pulls out the line she has a little sunfish on the line. Well, since fish are "icky," she passes the pole back to my father to get rid of it. My dad feels a tug and pulls out the pike that is now on the line. It wasn't huge, but it was for my younger sister and it was big enough to fry up and eat.

Cheers,
Dave

we are so lucky here in Oregon, we can go out and get pretty good sized fish!
We also fish for sturgeon as well, that is a total blast!
My other half is way more into it than I am, but I do go occasionally, and we have alot of fun. Our 8 year old daughter likes to fish as well :)

I commercial fished on the northern coast of california at fort bragg for about a year a LONG time ago when I was in my early 20's. I can remember bringing in a line that had a 6' or so blue shark on it. we got it up alongside the boat and emptied a nine shot .22 revolver into its head, brought it on board and one of the guys beat the living tar out of it with a lead filled bat. then someone else gutted it and threw it overboard......the shark swam off away from the boat, don't know if it was reflex action or what but it was freaky!
another time there was a guy that always went out by himself (a BIG time no-no) they found his boat out on the water with the auto pilot on and the guy was no where to be found. his hydraulic lines were out in the water so they started bringing the lines in so his boat could be taken to the harbor. they found him about halfway down the line with a hook through his hand.

It's nothing special, but when I lived in Alaska, we had just bought a fly rod. Well, we went to a lake known as "Bear Lake" where they have only pike. (Too bad. Unless you go to one of the lakes way out in the mountains, the pike are small. I'm talking 1 1/2 - 2 feet on average)

Well, I was moving from one spot to another with the fly (a mouse) dragging in the water. (It was kind of a U-Shaped cove. No trees or anything. And since fly rods are slow to real in, I just walked. It wasn't a very big area.)

When I got to my location, I started to pull some line in to ATTEMPT to cast and there was a pike on the end. Nothing big, but it was fun.

I"ve enjoyed fishing since I was a child! Bass, Trout, Salmon, and pound for pound one of the best fish you can catch up here is STEELHEAD!!! They are a blast. I've been fishing for them for over 30 years now. My biggest to date has been a 27 pounder caught on the Hoh river in the fall of 1994..

I've always been partial to sea trout. More of a nostalgia thing, I think. I was 9 - 11 years old and would go fishing by myself from 7am to 7pm. Never cought much, but had fun every minute of it.
