The fumigation happened and they somehow died, they were in a laundry room that wasn't fumigated and was detached from the house even had a dog in it and somehow they all died, thing was that the fumigation was only a few hours

I lost my LP sling, my b boehmei, my T albo and my T vagans

Don't make the same mistake I made, if you're going to fumigate, rent a hotel or something and keep them there for awhile, the poison seems to contaminate the whole property

This is completely baffling. Infuriating. I am sad for your loss. You don’t deserve this, and neither do they.

If you have the will, see if you can get them covered some way. It won’t bring them back, but they were a part of your family…

*edit* if it was them who told you to put it in the laundry room, then they have to take accountability. The laundry room could have been unsafe for many other reasons too.

So sorry for your loss. 😭
Yeah it sucks, thankfully my collection wasn't big not sure I want to get any tarantulas any time soon, my parents had bombed in the past and we put our leopard geckos and frog in the laundry room and they were fine, but it seems like the stuff they use now is much stronger

Geckos and frogs do not have the same system as arachnids. Laundry rooms can be stuffy and humid. Throw in some chemicals and it can be quick.

I am not blaming you! Dear gods no. Just that, this fumigation was their limit. And it needs to be adressed to those responsible.

I was told the laundry room was safe but apparently not.

Cheap landlords don't want to spray and put down bait, thing is fumigation doesn't kill everything for good when there's roaches in multiple houses around your house

I was told that the fumigation would be within a month but I woke up this morning and only had an hour to get ready

That right there, is a cause. I also know one doesnt like to go confront landlords. I was renovicted, went through other places where my rent was jacked up for no justification. Life becomes hell very fast and landlords can be jabba the hutts.

In your case. Its sensitive. The sudden need to get ready leaves little options. I would bring it up. Politely. Using the non violent communication style.

Had you disposed of more time, you could have places them elsewhere.

That’s a bummer for sure, sorry about that.

At least they weren’t hard to obtain species.

Im not sure confrontation is even worth it at this point, we went off on the landlord for the three week no AC ordeal and weekly visits by the landlord so tentions are already high and finding a new place let alone one that's affordable is a pain these days.
This is why we havent moved yet

You have no idea how i get it. I was able to get some peace when i want anal and read ALL the rules and legislature. Then the landlord started to see i was not going to be pushed around.

Make some calls to local lodging aids. Read up on your rights. Get things written, proof, texts, emails. Atleast show that you are informed. They don’t bother big guns as much.

I dont deal with that kind of life anymore, i rent a house now and know the owner.

Its a privilege and i am grateful. I also have it in me to help my friends battle their landlords. I read all the paperwork and help those i can. That is my way of giving back.

I also know how it is becoming impossible to become an owner these days. But we need to fight for the right to access property. Thats another subject for another day.

My collection was about $150 so it could have been much worse had I impulse bought The like some people do
It’s not about the money. Your animals died. It could have been 5$… i know i get real passionate about these things, but one day, “these people” need to stop treading on us.

In europe, they get real angry. The protests we do here in Canada, is nothing like there. They have a history of chopping off heads. We need to bring this back.

That was sarcasm. Before some one decides to chop off my head.

Here in AZ landlords can terminate the lease if they want so you gotta be careful, the landlords here are all on a power trip from what I've experienced, have yet to find one who is logical and not on a powertrip.

We've done repairs since my roommate is a handyman, replaced doors, handles, screws that were too short, replaced ovens, fridges, replaced carpet floors with granite tile but they still don't appreciate it

I'm noticing the gas is still trapped in some places like cupboards, boxes and containers, this is why you should keep any Ts out of the house for a long while.

Seems like these types of apartments that constantly fumigate are terrible for exotic pet keeping. Sorry for your losses same amount of Ts I lost last year.🥲 3 of which were pet shop ones. Coincidently all lost ability to drink and eat.

I can’t believe he had only one hour to prepare, It’s possible that laundry room was already sprayed with pesticides for roaches. What a nightmare.?!!!😡

I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else, years of caring for your collection can come to an end in an instant.

I would highly recommend spraying, baiting and keeping everything very clean so pests aren't ever an issue, especially if you're dealing with a landlord since they do what they want when they want
