Hello! I recently got my first tarantula from @John2097 , at 1.5 inches. I thought I'd share a photo of it fresh out of its container here!

(Also, I should note, it's about an inch under that circle piece, which is secured to the wall of the enclosure. That circle piece is not THAT much larger than the tarantula, just, optical illusion stuff.)

Great! GBBs are a great beginner species. They are one of the best species to raise from slings!

Thanks! I had some bad arachnaphobia growing up (when all the adults in your family act like toddlers near even jumping spiders.... you kinda develop it whether you truly feel that way or not), but I've gotten better over time, and I've always really liked spiders. I decided GBB was what interested me most (Besides the P. Metallica, but i want more experience before i even consider one of those), and i loved how much it webs! Also liked that it's a good beginner. Going to slowly move it up into larger enclosures over time, and thinking i'll keep the molts since this is my first tarantula

Thanks! Haven't completely overcome it, still a little nervous. Especially with the size of this sling. I'm from Illinois, our biggest spiders are wolf spiders that grow around 1". This little friend (Who I've named Nimhe) is already a little over 1.5", so it's the biggest spider I've seen in person aside from the sick looking Ts kept at pet stores. But if I really were genuinely scared of spiders I wouldn't of ever considered getting one as a pet (let alone actually going through with it and watching it a lot)

Yeah! There's already several I want. I REALLY want the P. Metallica when i have more experience, but I also want to get a G. Pulchra. They're super fascinating, and I LOVE how nice the G. Pulchra looks.

Also, Nimhe has already begun webbing their enclosure. Back corner between the wall and decor, webbing really quickly.

Agreed! I didn't expect her to web so high either but it's amazing. Super happy!
