I think its the yellow variation of the Gasteracantha cancriformis. I got a picture of this guy doing a google search and it seems to match your pic! Males and females have variations in spine length.

I agree, but where they are found locally they are called exactly what I said. But if you want to debate common names feel free.
I debated it because common names don’t identify anything, that’s the issue with them. Locally for you it is this spider, for the op, locally it could be any other spider under that name

Lol keep digging buddy
I dont understand why you keep posting images of orb weavers on google… you do realize there are many different kinds of orb weaver that look different right? It’s an entire family, not just one genus. I’m not sure what your point is buddy

First and foremost, I think the OP's question has been answered in post #2.
Secondly, I answered the OP's question - it's not alien at all, emphasized by me using a common name for the spider, which is obvious.
Third, you try to debate with me, by using a common name and telling me that the common name I used is wrong. Do you see the hypocrisy that I pointed out via several illustrations?
If not I am more than happy to explain. Btw, I am just having a little fun with you on a Sunday because the moment I mentioned "feel free to debate" the common name I kinda knew you would try to.
Why couldn't you just use the actual scientific name and end the debate like everyone else?
