Didn’t know where to post this thing. Figured it’s some type of arthropod creature.

They are cool critters! Feather stars are Echinoderms, the same phylum as sea stars, sand dollars, sea urchins, and sea cucumbers. Here is a video with more information (many of them can swim!):

Keeping crinoids seems really freaking difficult. You'll need crystal-clear, stable water inspite of adding continuous planktonic food. Apparently, these guys also ship really poorly.

However, I have seen some for sale, and this guy seems to have some success:


If you want an eldrich starfish in your aquarium, a basket star is easier to keep (pill milipede hard instead of public zoo hard) and, in my oppinion, freakier looking:

Keeping crinoids is definitely difficult, but they’re so lovely! I had mine for almost 2 years before I broke the tank down and sold everything, it was pretty but so delicate :(
