Curious George my grey tree frog escaped :wall: Whats the best way to catch a tree frog on the run? I tried putting a shallow water dish out hoping he would come to it. Hes my biggest male i dont really want to lose him. I wondered why he has been watching me closely lately

Since he's a tree frog, he will probably try to hide somewhere up high and in a corner. You may be able to find him roaming around at night too.
Good luck!

But if he dehydrates he will be too weak/dried up to climb. Look carefully under couches and stuff. I think GTF's are relatively tough skinned but if it has been more than 8 hours the frog is either on deaths door with renal failure possible if saved, or a piece of jerky.

Gotcha! I put out a shallow dish with water and found him in it. Didnt take time to get a pic, just grabbed him up and put him back where he belongs!

Glad you found him. I would imagine that amphibians have the lowest survival rates of all escaped pets, second only to fish, of course.

Im glad i found him too! Hes one of my favorites for sure. He has so much personality, you would never think it from a frog! Every time i go in the room he comes out of hiding and jump on a perch or the glass and watches me every move. Its so funny i love it. I like frogs :)
Cheers

I think they are about equal...actually! Fish can last quite a while...but unlike amphibians won't go crawling off to God knows where.

I remember when I was little, I came home from vacation to find my goldfish missing from the tank! I found them behind the tank stuck to the floor. Fish jerky :(
I find dried up treefrogs all the time at my work. I don't know how they get in here..
My boss makes me get all the bugs and frogs, even the dead ones. yuk. lol.

Good point! Unless we are talking about African lungfish or walking catfish, I guess.
