Can anyone else confirm, but I think this spider is also known as a Banana Spider and is related to the Black Widow can anyone tell me if I'm remembering this correctly or is this another species than what I'm thinking of entirely?

That spider is known as the black and yellow garden spider and is in the family Araneidae, not too close to the Latrodectus which are in Theridiidae.

Maybe something is not working on my end, but this is the second post I've looked at today where it appears that an image is missing (which I am guessing you did attach). I see no image with your post.

There was no image. Copy and pasting doesn't work here.

All I can see on that image attempt is a box with a red X in it, so I don't think any post will have an image to accompany it. Sorry for the inconvience.
