anyone keeping these as pets, i have rescued 2 from a barge travelling the mississippi river that was to be scrapped and need info, I usually post in Tarantula species and have never dealt with true spiders.
I have one as a pet right now. I'm keeping it in a med KK with no substrate. You're going to need some sticks in the enclosure so they can build a web. I just look for the web that it built and put crickets in the web by hand. They're quick to get any food that lands in their web.
That's pretty much it. They're pretty hardy. My bedroom is connected to my bathroom, so it's usually humid in there. I'm not quite sure if that will make a difference.
the job site im at now has two HUGE agriope sp. right by the hose connector. I thought about scooping them up, one is really colorful and the other not so much, but still huge.
i bumped ones webstring with my head as i leaned in to turn on the water and it shot out of its hiding spot and i thought it was gonna try to eat me....lol
The other is between a large bush and the building and has built a HUGE web, its beautiful....
sorry just ranting didnt mean to hijack yur thread.....
