My G. rosea, Ituri, FINALLY ate something OTHER than a cricket! {D

It took about 2 minutes of poking it around and making it scuttle, but she finally decided to give a lateralis a go!

I am so proud of my ol stubborn gal lol

Wow, congrats. My big old gal has taken a grand total of 2 B. lateralis in... ever. She absolutely won't eat dubias though. Right now we're playing a waiting game. I will NOT flinch first and buy crickets. I hate those things...

Thanks yall! lol

I HATE crickets, too... I am sooo glad that the only one who I have to buy them for now is the gecko!

I tried refusing to feed her crickets and only offering roaches... that went on for about 6 months, until I switched back to crickets.. and she refused those too. That was the start of her several year hiatus from eating! I've never been able to make the rules with her lol

Audrey... I just kept having to make the roach scuttle. Lats are faster than dubias, and shaped more like crickets... so after a few minutes of me chasing the roach around amongst her legs she finally gathered it in her palps (it was like she was inspecting it LOL) and then took a cautious nibble.. and then CRUNCH!

I am going to try again today... we'll see how that goes lol

Fortified in 13 Minerals and Vitamins!

Atleast your girl eats.........My daughter has an almost 4 yr old rosea that went a year once, w/ out eating...........and has gone since Summer when she killed an accidental tank-mate........similar-sized B. Emilia male 2"+ OOps!

I am surprised she's eating, Jason! Her nearly two year long break from eating ended only recently, and she had a molt somewhere in there too (first one in... 5 years?).. so this "eating" thing she is doing is a nice surprise! LOL

I tried to feed her another one today...

She ignored it, and threatened the tongs

So much for that idea! lol

I am allergic to coconut

But maybe I'll see if she wants a Hershey's bar.. though I'd have to yank it around on a string to get her attention lol
