Hey all,

as mentioned in the "Jumper Updates" i was bored and snapped some pics of "dwarf"-spiders, so here we go again.

I take myself for an extremely lucky guy, as i was able to get hold of even another Scytodes spec., this time from Tanzania. As fat as this lady looks, i wouldn´t be surprised, if she´d drop me a sac...

Enjoy:

That´s it for now, see ya soon...

Have a nice weekend!

Hi Phil,

spiders of the genus Scytodes are called spitting spiders, as they use to hunt down their prey through spitting a stream of glue-like like venoms streams on their prey items from a distance.

Quite unique spiders, very skilled and stealthy hunters, it´s really impressive what they can take down. Furthermore they´re quite social, unlike other spiders.

If you´re interested in learning more, i´d advise you to do a search about Scytodes + Mt. Falongong, really unbelievable....

As my specimen are from Tanzania, i just dubbed them "african spitters", no idea about the detailed species, though.

Greetings,

Stefan
