dunno if they do! thats gonna make life tricky if they do! I think i'll get them some big tupperware containers, the smallest of holes with a hot needle and then seal them in! no flies in woo yay!:D I can pop the top then to chuck in food and and give them a spray! Then re-seal! I got four so I think two per container, altho they are beginning to get frisky so maybe one each lol! so many damn babies all the time!:D :D

I use cheap compost for a substrate and throw it in the garden after a couple of uses. In your case I'd say completely change the substrate and clean their cage completely.

Don't leave old vegetable rinds or scraps in the tank as this attracts them.

For ventilation I have old net curtains hot-glued over large holes cut in the side of their tub.

You could try keeping them on spaghnum moss so that you can take the substrate and clean it in boiling water once a week. You could also try putting their food on a plate which will make it easier to deal with.

I spoke to someone and they said they keep them on vermiculite. If this is the case could you have no substrate and a water bowl? Now that would make life easy!

In my experience, snails like to burrow and I normally give mine at least two/three inches and a pile of moss in one corner.
